Pride and Prejudice summary

The story in one page

The arrival of a wealthy bachelor at Netherfield sends the Bennet household into a tactical frenzy. While the eldest daughter, Jane, finds a quiet match in Mr. Bingley, her sister Elizabeth enters a cold war with his friend, Mr. Darcy. Elizabeth’s sharp wit clashes with Darcy’s social stiffness, a conflict fueled by the lies of a charming soldier named Wickham. As inheritance laws threaten to leave the five sisters homeless, Elizabeth must navigate a failed proposal from a sycophantic cousin and the social suicide of her youngest sister’s elopement. Ultimately, she learns that her first impressions were wrong, and Darcy proves his worth by quietly saving her family’s reputation.
