The Legend of Sleepy Hollow summary

The story in one page

Ichabod Crane, a spindly and terrified schoolmaster, lives in the quiet valley of Sleepy Hollow. He keeps his stomach full by boarding with various families and his heart set on marrying Katrina Van Tassel, the daughter of a wealthy farmer. However, he faces stiff competition from the local legend Brom Bones, who prefers pranks to poetry. After an evening spent at a party, Ichabod flees through the woods, certain he is being hunted by the town's legendary headless ghost. He vanishes from the valley the next morning, leaving behind only a shattered pumpkin and local gossip.
