The story in one page
Michael Vance is piloting a replica of Ulysses' sailcraft in the Aegean when a Russian Hind gunship attacks, leaving him wrecked on a small island. The island houses a 20-megawatt laser launch facility, which has been seized by a group of mercenaries and terrorists. The invaders intend to modify the site's delivery system to launch a stolen thermonuclear warhead at American targets. Vance survives the initial assault, links up with a stranded staff member, and uses a local computer network to outmaneuver the intruders. With the help of inside access, they subvert the operation, neutralize the threat, and escape the ruins of the facility.
